Our Unique Tool
Lumecca is what we use here at SPRY with red light therapy in Waterloo. Lumecca is a breakthrough intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment that targets irregularities in the skin, resulting in a more even tone and brighter appearance.
Why Lumecca?
When used in aesthetic centers, it helps improve skin tone and decrease hyperpigmentation caused by sun and aging, rosacea, and even acne. Following a treatment, the overall look of the skin is more even and radiant.
Lumecca IPL is the safest and strongest IPL on the market, making it a top choice for patients looking to reduce sun damage, rosacea redness, freckles, and any vascular lesions.
If you have texture or tone irregularities in your skin, Lumecca is an effective, efficient way to target a wide variety of concerns you may have!
Dos & Don’ts
Do… use high SPF sunscreen for 3 to 4 weeks leading up to your treatment.
Any kind of sun tan, even mild or light, can affect your results. When tanned, your top layer of skin is more fragile and, in reality, damaged. So the Lumecca treatment would harm your skin further by going deeper than intended.
Don’t… self-tan with lotion or spray.
Applying self-tanner leading up to your Lumecca appointment could cause an adverse reaction between the tanner and Lumecca. This could result in burning, hyperpigmentation, or hypopigmentation.
Do… use gentle cleansers and moisturizers.
Any kind of harsh chemicals, retinoids, tretinoins, alpha- or beta-hydroxy products, or vitamin C products can be very harmful to your top layer of skin. You’ll want to avoid those for at least one week.
Don’t… rub your face.
Your face will be fragile for 2 to 3 days. So be very careful about how much you touch your face and the way you apply any cleanser or lotion.
